I was given the news that the old Starlite Music Ampitheater in Latham is set for demolition in the near future. While I am new to the area, this seemed to bring up very real emotions and stories from “back in the day” concerts from the Hubs, so even though there was a foot of snow still around and the temp was steady at 4 degrees, we trekked past the No Trespassing signs to take one last look of this abandoned venue.
Commencement programs from Shaker High class of 1998 were scattered throughout the building. It must have been one of the last ceremonies held there.
After walking through, it’s pretty obvious that this theater has seen it’s better day. I guess all that will be left is a set of new offices and tons of memories. Goodbye Starlite!
